FIDM Spring 2021 Quarter Partial Reopening Plan

Dear FIDM Community,
As we look ahead to the coming year, we are encouraged by the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines and other advances, as well as the decline in cases that are leading us toward a partial campus reopening for Spring 2021 quarter, including opportunities for students to use on-campus resources by appointment.
Beginning in the Summer 2021 quarter, we will be offering on-campus classes, and we are looking forward to a full reopening for Fall 2021. Thank you, once again, for continuing to follow public health guidelines and doing your part to slow the spread of the virus.

We also wanted to take this moment to respond to the number of Anti-Asian hate crimes that have risen since the start of the COVID-19 health crisis, leaving many people across the country traumatized and saddened. FIDM stands against violence and racism and stands in unity with the Asian American Community.
Our new course in the General Studies Program, “Perspectives on Diversity,” analyzes the roots of discrimination, fear, hate, and bias, and explores how to create and promote a more inclusive society. As an institution whose community is strengthened by diversity, the course is just one of many positive changes we have made at FIDM in support of equity and inclusion in education. We will be offering an upcoming online discussion on this topic, so please watch our event calendar for details.
