Student Expense Budget
FIDM's calculation for average cost of living is based on surveys completed by our students to compute the student's cost of attendance. The budget takes into consideration the following:
- Tuition and Fees
- Room and Board
- Books and Supplies
- Transportation Expenses
- Personal and Miscellaneous Costs
Students Living at Home | |
---|---|
Tuition & Fees | $30,955 |
Room/Board | $5,436 |
Transportation | $2,043 |
Miscellaneous | $2,142 |
Total* | $40,576 |
Students Living Away from Home | |
---|---|
Tuition & Fees | $30,955 |
Room/Board | $14,148 |
Transportation | $1,692 |
Miscellaneous | $2,907 |
Total* | $49,702 |
* Since FIDM uses an “average”, there is no need to feel that you should need to spend as much; your own expenses might and can be less than those used in examples above.
Net Price Calculator
The best way to to get help with calculating the costs of an education at FIDM–and how your family can meet those costs–is to speak with an Advisor at FIDM. An online tool called a Net Price Calculator can also help you estimate how much financial aid will likely be available and the amount your family will be expected to pay.
The estimate provided using this net price calculator does not represent a final determination, or actual award, of financial assistance. The price of attendance and financial aid availability may change. This estimate shall not be binding on the Secretary of Education, this institution of higher education or the state in which this institution of higher education is located. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to be eligible for, and receive, an actual financial aid award that includes federal grants, loans or work-study assistance.
