Grad Gottmik Appears on GLAMOUR UK's Beauty of Pride Digital Cover

Merchandise Product Development Graduate and RuPaul’s Drag Race star Gottmik, also known as Kade Gottlieb, is one of five Beauty of Pride digital cover stars for GLAMOUR UK’s June 2021 issue. The first ever trans man to compete on the hit show, Gottmik was the runner up in Season 13 of the series. A notable Los Angeles-based makeup artist, Kade has worked with everyone from Cindy Crawford, Heidi Klum, and Paris Hilton to Adam Lambert and the star-studded cast of Taylor Swift’s “You Need To Calm Down” music video.

In the accompanying interview, Gottmik, who uses she/her pronouns while in drag, but uses he/him pronouns as Kade, explains that she is “so proud” to be the first trans man to compete on Drag Race. “It means so much to me, because I have always been looking for someone like me in the media,” she said. “The fact that I went on my favorite TV show of all time and was able to be that for so many people is just mind-blowing to me to this day.” Gottmik was the first drag queen on Season 13 to break the 1 million follower mark and noted that she loves social media and connecting with other people online.

Gottmik, who is on the Drive-In Drag tour for all of Pride Month, said the month of June is the most important thing in the world to her. “We may have had to hide that as kids or young adults. And then when you're an adult, you get to go to Pride and celebrate and be the person you've always wanted to scream for the rooftops that you are,” she said. “It's a true celebration of all the pain and hard work that we've put into ourselves and our lives and our journeys. It's a time to celebrate, and to scream from the rooftops that we are here and we're not going anywhere."
