FIDM Alumnae and Sisters Alexandra and Mackenzie Grandquist Style Kylie Jenner

Merchandise Product Development Grads Alexandra and Mackenzie Grandquist were recently featured in Vogue Australia magazine for their work styling Kylie Jenner, including her appearances at Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2023 and the 2022 CFDA Fashion Awards. They even assisted her with her Bride of Frankenstein Halloween costume!

“What is so intriguing about Kylie is that she can pull off many different looks. She already is a creative force, [so] we knew collaborating and working with her would be incredible.” Alexandra says in the piece. She and her sister initially worked with Jenner’s boyfriend, Travis Scott, and the partnership naturally grew from there. “I loved that we could take our experience in men’s styling and apply it to Kylie’s personal style and swag.”

The article goes on to discuss Alexandra and Mackenzie’s workflow, their constant communication with their client, and the amount of research needed to keep someone like Jenner at the forefront of both style and trends. Mackenzie says, “I have always loved that Kylie can pull off so many different vibes and looks—that to me is interesting, fun and challenging in a good way.” Of their work, she explains, “There are many elements that go into being a professional stylist. Organization, planning, and bookkeeping are big skills that are needed. They go hand in hand with the trend research, the networking you do [and] the people skills you need to withhold. It’s an endless process that gets better with time.”
