Alumna Savannah Tyson-Yarbrough Styled 2023 Golden Globes Red Carpet Look

FIDM Grad Savannah Tyson-Yarbrough worked with journalist Azia Celestino to style her 2023 Golden Globes red carpet look. The dress is by designer Diana M. Putri, the Indonesian designer of celebrity-focused couture line Diana Couture.

Savannah grew up in Federal Way, Washington and attended Federal Way High School before heading to FIDM to complete an A.A. in Visual Communications and a B.A. in Creative Industry Studies (Merchandise Product Development Core), finishing her studies in 2021. We checked in with Savannah to learn more.

Congrats on your work styling Azia Celestino for the 2023 Golden Globes red carpet! How did this opportunity come about? Thank you so much! I worked with Azia on the MTV Movie Awards last year. I pulled a dress from the showroom I work at (The Archives & Showroom) and I styled her for that event. During the holidays she reached out to me and we started prepping for her Golden Globes look. We really wanted to represent API designers so we picked some looks we liked and then had a fitting and came to a final decision on what gown she wanted to wear.

How long have you been working with Azia? What other styling work have you done for her? I worked with her for her MTV Movie Awards look last year and this current Golden Globes.

What other celebrities have you worked with? I haven’t worked with many but hopefully I will get to work with more in the future! But I have assisted other stylists that do style celebrities as well.

What about this work do you enjoy? Planning out the look and making my clients happy and bringing their vision to life.

How did FIDM help prepare you for this position? FIDM helped prepare me with the fashion styling class and my merchandise and product development courses as well.

Anything else you’d like to share? A big thank you to all the staff and faculty, especially Simona Willams for guiding me and helping me on my journey!
