Student Spotlight: Grace Koritz's Global Childhood Inspired Her Future at FIDM

Merchandising & Marketing Student Grace Koritz was born in Jacksonville, Florida and moved to Tokyo at age 2. By age 7, she was living in Toronto, Canada before moving back to Florida at 9, followed by Orange County, California, where she attended JSerra Catholic High School. We checked in with Grace, who is expected to receive a B.A. degree in 2025 from FIDM to learn more about her FIDM journey.

How did living in places like Tokyo and Toronto help shape you as a person? Living abroad really young opened my perspective on many different things and influenced how I see fashion and what made me choose to go to FIDM.

What made you choose FIDM? I decided on FIDM because I liked the different programs and majors they offered.

How do you like living in LA? Any favorite spots near FIDM? I really enjoy living in LA. I find myself always having something to or see. My favorite coffee shop by FIDM to do some work is Verve.

What is a class project or memorable lesson you've learned at FIDM? My favorite projects were from my Trend Analysis class with Robin Wagner. I learned a lot from her and her class.

What are your career goals? Having my own company and creating a product that can help the environment.
