Merchandise & Marketing Graduate Christina Walker is currently working as the Marketing and Social Content Director at Daily Concepts, a luxury spa company based in Los Angeles. 

"I knew marketing was the perfect place for me because I have always loved communication," says Walker, a 2016 graduate who was the Fashion Director for FIDM MODE while in school. "When you strip away all of the fluff, at its core, marketing is really about portraying and expressing a message. Then the skill and challenge comes in when you must build a message around who the audience is, considering the brand's voice, and then create the best overall design for what you want to say." 

Walker's current day-to-day tasks include sales, email campaigns, product development, copywriting, and "many other hats," she says. "Honestly, without FIDM, I do not think I would be capable of professionally expressing myself through this position. I knew I had a desire to communicate in all ways, but I needed what I learned through FIDM to polish and focus this desire in a way that would translate into the business world."

Raised in a historical beach town in North Carolina, Walker first heard about FIDM thanks to Google. "I will be eternally grateful for this experience and the woman it shaped and molded me into and for the leap it required of me--making the biggest move of my life thus far," she says. "FIDM was a place of solace and purpose for me when I was 3,000 miles away from everyone and everything I knew, and yet somehow through this beautifully creative environment I felt I had arrived home." Walker says she is still great friends with her admissions advisor. 

In her spare time, Walker offers astrological readings and writes spiritual musings as The Blonde Priestess.
