Chriselle Lim Covers October Issue of Parents

Chriselle Lim Is Cover of October Issue of Parents

Social media superstar and FIDM Grad Chriselle Lim is on the cover of the October issue of Parents magazine.

The Merchandise & Marketing alumna, who posts all about beauty, fashion, and lifestyle on her Chriselle Factor blog and YouTube channel, shared tips with the magazine for taking pregnancy style to the next level based on her own maternity clothes mishaps. "When I was pregnant the first time, I bought way too much," she said. "Now I realize I pretty much only need pants. I recently invested in two pairs of maternity jeans, since as I hit the second trimester, I started having trouble fitting into my regular pairs. I got a loose boyfriend cut to pair with casual tees and a super stretchy skinny style to wear with larger tops."

She also suggested shopping for regular dresses in a larger size. "The trick is to avoid pieces with a defined waist and to seek out stretchy knits and flowy fabrics," she said. "The dresses will be fitted while I’m pregnant, and after the baby is born, they’ll look looser. In general, I prefer simple pieces in neutral solids because if I buy a dramatic dress, I can only wear it once or twice before I’m tired of it." Chriselle also recommends oversize white button-down shirts because they're easy to pull off with a growing belly.

When she's sleep deprived, Chriselle always opts for a simple slip dress. "But I add statement earrings or a bold cuff and a pop of color on the lips," she explained. "Then I reach for a pair of slides (the ultimate lazy-girl shoes) or my white Nike Classic Cortez sneakers, which go with literally everything. And I like to pull my hair back into a low pony. It gives me an instant face-lift."

While a pregnant Chriselle was photographed with her daughter, Chloe, for the cover, she and her husband have since welcomed baby girl, Colette, to their growing family. Congratulations, Chriselle!
