Grad Candace Cuoco Dresses Lady Gaga for VMAs

At last night’s MTV Video Music Awards, Lady Gaga donned a custom liquid chrome ruffled winged coat by Fashion Design Graduate Candice Cuoco. The futuristic garment was on full display as Gaga, who accepted four televised awards, picked up the first-ever MTV Tricon Award. “Thank you Lady Gaga for letting me have a small piece in sharing this huge moment with you guys. Congrats on all of your awards!” Candice wrote on Instagram.

"I want to share this award with everybody at home tonight, everybody at home who is their own form of a Tricon," she said in her acceptance speech. "I want you to know that you can do this too. Just because we're separated right now and culture may feel less alive in some ways, I know a renaissance is coming, and the wrath of pop culture will inspire you, and the rage of art will empower you as it responds to hardship with its generosity and love."

For Candice, dressing the pop star-turned-actress is deeply personal. “Gaga changed my life,” Candice added. “She made me believe when I felt like I had no business believing I would make it in the fashion industry. I love you Gaga.” Candice previously dressed the superstar for a campaign for her HAUS LABORATORIES Cosmic Love Holiday Collection.
