Fashion Design Grad Sergio Guadarrama is a Project Runway Finalist

Celestino designer Sergio Guadarrama, who graduated from FIDM with a degree in Fashion Design, is one of four designers participating in tonight's Project Runway season 18 finale. Serena Williams will join the fashion competition series as the guest judge for the final runway, with only one designer chosen as the winner. Sergio is competing alongside Geoffrey Mac, Nancy Volpe-Beringer, and Victoria Cocieru.

In the final episode, the remaining designers rush to put the final touches on their collections and balance advice from experts while trying to not lose their own point of view. Supermodel Karlie Kloss, editor-in-chief of Elle, Nina Garcia, fashion designer Brandon Maxwell, and former editor-in-chief of Teen Vogue, Elaine Welteroth, serve as judges.

"The reason I came to Project Runway was to make a change in terms of social issues, economic issues, and making the world a better place," he has said. "My intentions have always been pure and positive. I really want to make the world a better place with what I love to do, which is fashion. And I hope people can see that."

The four final designers had five months to work on their final collections, which appeared on the runway at New York Fashion Week. Sergio says his collection, which is inspired by the Arctic Ocean and rising sea levels, "is truly dear to my heart and I hope it is raising awareness of the problems we’re facing in the world today."

Watch the finale of Project Runway season 18 on March 12, 2020 at 9:00/8:00C on Bravo.
