FIDM Grad Sergio Guadarrama to Compete on Project Runway Season 18

Celestino designer Sergio Guadarrama is one of the competing designers on Project Runway season 18, which starts on December 5, 2019. The Fashion Design Graduate, who was raised outside of Austin, Texas, wants to bring awareness to sustainable and ethical fashion while appearing on the Emmy-winning series.

Sergio launched his line, Celestino, in 2005, and he's designed everything from ready-to-wear to avant-garde couture. His eco-conscious collection has been featured in publications such as Vogue, People, Forbes, and New York Magazine, and he's created pieces for Kim Kardashian, Indya Moore, and Billy Porter, who wore a show-stopping Celestino gown for the 2019 Tony Awards.

"I just want to help people through the language of fashion," Sergio told Bravo. "I want to grow as a designer, being sustainable and being socially conscious, and really be a standard for the fashion industry. I just want to make the world a better place with my design aesthetic, with my creations. It should not be about me, me, me, me—it's about everyone."

In addition to host Karlie Kloss, mentor Cristian Siriano, and judges Nina Garcia, Brandon Maxwell, and Elaine Welteroth, the new season's guest judges will include stars such as Laverne Cox, Kiernan Shipka, Rachel Brosnahan, Leslie Jones, Cyndi Lauper, and Thom Browne, among others.

Watch the premiere of Project Runway season 18 on December 5, 2019 at 9:30/8:30C.
