Students Head to NY to Present Final Projects to Major Beauty Brands, March 20-23

Seven teams of students in the Bachelor of Science in Beauty Business Management Program will be traveling to New York, March 20-23, to present final projects to major beauty brands, Dior, Victoria’s Secret, Pink, Fresh, NARS, Givaudan, and Indie Lee, as part of their capstone course taught by Ashley Vilgiate and Tina Perez. The brands worked directly with the students teams, assigning them real-world projects specific to the needs of the brand and over the course of two quarters have been meeting online once a month with the students to check on progress, provide feedback, and oversee next steps. The type of projects assigned vary greatly from eCommerce to product development to market strategy.

"We are currently working on our senior capstone project and were paired with Parfums Christian Dior,” said B.S. Beauty Business Management Student Alexandra Bernal, on behalf of Team Dior which includes Jennifer Lee, Rachel Schmitt, and Ashley Tran. “The company needs help finding various strategies to create synergy with their couture and beauty, titled a 'One Dior' experience. After conducting market research as well as having a deeper understanding of Dior Beauty, we have decided to pitch a pop-up museum experience that will integrate a 360 marketing approach to raise awareness of their couture and beauty collections."

B.S. Beauty Business Management Students Rachel Kwon, Mollie Mayer, and Sofia Pelletiere have been working with Fresh, a beauty brand founded by Russian immigrants Lev Glazman and Alina Roytberg living in Boston. "The project that we are working on for Fresh is to develop an influencer marketing strategy that resonates specifically with the Gen Z consumer, focusing our efforts on TikTok to deliver educational content that demonstrates Fresh’s values of efficacy and high quality skincare," said Sofia Pelletiere.

Team Indie Lee includes B.S. Beauty Business Management Students Anna Chalik, Amanda King, Jiyoung Moon, and Yesenia Morales, who shared their objective, “to develop Indie Lee as the thought leader in areas beyond the beauty industry such as mindfulness, self-care, and health through an increased presence in various platforms including social media, press, podcast, and so on. This incorporates research about social and PR strategy."

"When we first started the project,” said Team Pink which includes B.S. Beauty Business Management Students Arli Bianco, Briana Chan, Natalya Hanna, and Madison Litton, “we were tasked with creating a digital marketing campaign for Victoria’s Secret PINK based on research and data. Over the course of the project, it has blossomed into a full circle marketing campaign with product, social media content, in-store events, college campus events, and a partnership with a non-profit organization."

Team Givaudan includes students Julianne Hernandez, Alexis Colomy, and Emmanuel Pena; Team Victoria’s Secret is Kendra Grey, Brionnica Gomez, and Jessica Zepeda; and Team NARS is Kayla Clinton, Elizabeth Jones, Rajneet Kaur, and Isabella Lecrichia.
