Instructor Has 25 Years of Experience in the Fashion Industry

“Having worked in the fashion industry for over 25 years, it has always been a joy. Being able to be a part of FIDM's faculty definitely adds to this joy. It is such a pleasure to be able to share my experiences with bright and energetic students who want to pursue a career in fashion.

My favorite project is introducing students in the Apparel Technology II class to the PLM system, the industry standard in the garment industry. It provides students with a real-world experience. Students witness the entire process, and begin to understand that we all are part of a larger team, and we work together in order to develop products which are creative, viable, and timely for the market. It takes a bit of practice to become familiar with the program; however, once students become familiar with PLM, they really enjoy using it for doing their tech packs.

It's a great feeling to see them gain knowledge which will be so useful to them. This is what I enjoy so much about FIDM—being part of an exciting school for up-and-coming fashion industry professionals.”
