How did your advisor help with the process? My advisor was my personal guide throughout the entire process and her enthusiasm was infectious. Ms. Harris emailed me about every deadline, keeping me on track and stress free. The whole journey was definitely much more enjoyable because of her guidance.

Tell us a bit about yourself. I have quite a few inspirations, hobbies, interests, and goals. First, I love my family and my faith in God. These two things combined are my true inspirations. Next, I am passionate about my YouTube channel, and hope to grow it into one with a strong following. My message is to stay positive and to never give up on your dreams. I’ve experienced a certain amount of bullying at school and I know that this is a common theme for most girls. It’s important to me to shed some happiness into the lives of anyone who might watch my videos, even if only for a few minutes.

Last, my heart is full when I help others and that’s why my philanthropy work is also important to me. I’m the youngest board member for the Orphan Children of India and I helped raise funds to build an orphanage that now houses over 200 children in India. This is just one of many organizations where I contribute my time, talent, and treasures.

What are your proudest accomplishments so far? My proudest accomplishments so far are not the many awards or accolades that I’ve received over the years, or even the fact that I have always been a very involved student, but simply that I have remained true to who I am throughout it all. I embrace my inner goofball and encourage others to do the same. Life is meant to be an adventure and I look forward to accomplishing many wonderful things in my future, while remaining kind, humble and honest.

What made FIDM right for you? One unexpected conversation with a lovely FIDM representative at my school’s college night changed everything. I’m a good student and a very involved student, so I was prepared to apply to many colleges. The only problem was that none of the majors offered appealed to me, which is somewhere in the world of social media. FIDM offers a 4-year Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Media and that excites me. FIDM is right for me because it will afford me the opportunity to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in a field that I love, learn from people who are currently working in that world and strengthen my skills to become the best version of myself.

Describe your entrance project. I love my entrance project because it highlights my creative thought process. I chose a company that I personally can get behind and that’s the Dollar Shave Club. It took hours to create a “fake” blog that consisted of social media posts, which I edited by hand, for Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest. It was important to me to incorporate celebrity endorsements and trending news to show the power of social media advertising. FIDM seemed to be impressed by my choice of company, stating that it was the first time anyone had ever submitted a project like mine. That made me feel great.

What are your career goals? My career goals are mighty, but I suppose that’s what they are supposed to be at my age. I have always just stayed in my lane and focused on what appeals to me, so I can only imagine that with my education from FIDM, along with the many relationships I will do well. Currently, I hope to grow my YouTube channel, as it brings me pure joy and ultimately become my own brand. I will just say, that I want to do great things in both big and small ways.

What do you expect to learn at FIDM? I expect to learn how to push my own boundaries while I’m attending FIDM. The idea of learning cutting edge curriculum, like social media, from instructors who are immersed in that world is awesome! Additionally, being around other creative people really appeals to me and I look forward to growing into a more developed and successful young woman.
