Experience Grad's Beauty Brand at FIDM Holiday Market on December 4

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Lela Christine attended St. Bernard High School before earning a Fashion Design degree from FIDM in 1987. The designer, influencer, and entrepreneur has decades of industry experience in fashion, social media, and marketing. She’s also a digital publisher of media brands such as Fab Five Lifestyle magazine and Life Feels Good. In 2016, she founded the eco-friendly beauty wellness collection Honey Nail Glam, one of the alumni-owned businesses showcasing their products at FIDM Holiday Market on December 4 in Grand Hope Park. 

What can shoppers expect to see from Honey Nail Glam at the FIDM Holiday Market? The new collection of body butters, candles, and our famous Sweet Cuticle Oil in addition to our new sister collection from Sweet Rock Rose that HNG owns as a private label brand.

What were some of the most valuable lessons you learned at FIDM? I learned how to make patterns from a dress form, creating a collection of designs via sourcing the best textiles and novelty trims — and the most valuable part I learned was how to create and present my first runway collection in which I presented upon my graduation from FIDM.

Any favorite FIDM memories? Taking my Color Theory class since I am a big fan of various hues of Pantone colors and number one is making the decision to enroll as a student at FIDM.

Tell us a bit about the upcoming holiday pop-up event you're hosting on December 11th at Santa Monica Place with your company Lifestyle Elevation Media Foundation: It’s one of our first signature brand awareness events that supports creators in Los Angeles County. Our aim is for small business owners to sell their creations, control their business transactions, and gain new customers and new followers.
