Co-Chair's Fashion Designs Worn by Katy Perry, Carrie Underwood, and Beyoncé

After graduating from FIDM, Fashion Design Co-Chair Nick Verreos launched the NIKOLAKI brand with his design partner, David Paul, who is also Co-Chair of the program. Their sportswear line, NV Nick Verreos, is sold internationally via TV home shopping channels. He’s also known to millions as an author, Project Runway alum, Under the Gunn mentor, and red carpet expert.

How are you bringing your industry experience to your position at FIDM?
My all-encompassing experiences in the industry for the past 25-plus years as a designer, patternmaker, design company owner, as well as educator and former instructor, gives me a solid background into this position I have now as the Co-Chair of the Fashion Design Program.

You are a Fashion Design Graduate, what is it like to now be shaping the program?
I think I have a unique perspective as a former graduate since I went through the program and know what it takes to be an accomplished student and graduate. With my years of experience working at many different levels in the industry, I am also acutely aware of what educational fundamentals are needed to make someone successful in the industry.

What is the best part of your job?
Inspiring the students, trying to articulate how passionate I am about fashion, and empowering them to be successful designers themselves. I love seeing the students in the beginning, but more importantly, at the end, seeing the creative culmination and realization of all their hard work.
