Instructor is Co-Owner and Designer of Sustainable Fashion Brand Lua

Dat Tran worked for Geoffrey Beene and Calvin Klein before striking out on his own

Dat Tran received a B.F.A. from Otis College of Art and Design. One year after graduating, he was living and working in New York City as a Designer for Geoffrey Beene, a position he held for four years. He then joined Calvin Klein as a Senior Designer, where he was responsible for designing all woven products for the North American menswear collection. In 2007, he became Creative Director of BJD, Inc., known for its designer and mass market sportswear lines. In addition to teaching at FIDM, Dat is the Co-Owner and Designer of Lua, a sustainable fashion brand featuring true hand dyed scarves, handcrafted silk necklaces, soft handbags, and luxurious apparel made from plant-based and natural fibers.
