FIDM Donates Nearly $300,000 of Clothing and Essentials To Ukrainian Refugees

FIDM is donating nearly $300,000 worth of clothing and essentials to the Mission of Mercy for Ukraine, a United States-based non-profit supporting the hardest-hit victims of the war in Ukraine. The donation is comprised of FIDM sweatshirts, T-shirts, sweatpants, blankets, hats, stuffed animals, toys, rattles, baby bottles, and water bottles. The 15,166 units equal a total retail value of over $298,000. The 16 pallets will be shipped to Ukraine by Meest-America, Inc.

The initiative was spearheaded by Ella Van Nort, FIDM Director of Retail Operations and National Association of College Stores (NACS) Board of Trustees Member. Instructor Angela Fuentes introduced FIDM to Meest-America and was instrumental in organizing the shipping to Ukraine. FIDM’s contribution to the Mission of Mercy for Ukraine has influenced over 200 colleges across the USA and Canada to join the effort.

Since their founding by Taras and Yuriy Drofiak in 2014, the mission of Mission of Mercy for Ukraine is to serve those who are suffering in Ukraine due to the war. USA-besed, their aim is to relieve the hardships of suffering victims through the contributions and donations passed on from people like you. They seek out, contact, and support individuals who have suffered injuries, lost family member(s), are homeless, or have been left vulnerable with disability.
