FIDM College Reps Lead Workshop at Katy Perry's Camp Firework
Last weekend, three college representatives from FIDM were invited to collaborate with the creators of Katy Perry’s Camp Firework on the design aspect of their summer camp. A project of Perry's Firework Foundation, the Southern California-based camp provides a sleep-away experience in nature where kids can discover their spark through artistic programming.
After meeting and being welcomed by the pop star (pictured above, at left), the FIDM Representatives hosted a t-shirt designing workshop for five different groups of campers, who got creative with tie-dye, logos, screen printing, and bedazzling. Once they designed their own shirts, the campers donned their custom creations during the Camp Firework’s final performance.
The Firework Foundation’s mission is to empower children from underserved communities by igniting their inner light through the arts. Camp Firework's campers come from areas surrounding Santa Barbara, where Katy is originally from, and extend all the way to Burbank.
