Laura Vivienne Featured in Vanity Fair

When we interviewed FIDM Merchandise Product Development Alumna Laura Jenkins last month, she said her number one goal for her new dress label Laura Vivienne was promotion. True to her word, her label was just featured in the May issue of Vanity Fair UK.

Laura Jenkins designs gowns and cocktail dresses for all of life’s parties and describes her target customer as: “that vivacious woman who lives a full, happy and affluent life. The risk-taker, the party goer, the pursuer of dreams, a lover of the journey—unafraid to laugh and be her authentic beautiful self.”

When asked how she came up with the name of her line, Laura said she paired her first name with Vivienne which means alive. “At the age of 30 when I decided to pack up and move to Los Angeles to study at FIDM, it was the first time I truly felt alive,” she explained. “So the name has a very genuine meaning to my heart.”

“The aesthetic of our gowns and cocktail dresses is alive, dramatic and elegant. As the founder, I want the gowns to feel fun and lively while at the same time, bringing out the soul of the woman wearing them. Emotional pieces designed with love and depth with an inspiration from life.”

We wish FIDM Alumna and designer/entrepreneur Laura Jenkins much success and look forward to witnessing the growth of her gorgeous special occasion dress label headquartered in Los Angeles.
