Student Spotlight: Celeste Tran Has Shown at LA Fashion Week and Designed for SHEIN While Studying at FIDM

Celeste Tran was born and raised in Los Angeles where she attended Glen A. Wilson High School. After receiving an A.A. degree in Fashion Design, Celeste decided to continue her education at FIDM with a B.A. in Design and will graduate next quarter. We caught up with the fashion designer and student, who has already designed a collection for SHEIN and shown her collection at LA Fashion Week, to learn more about her FIDM journey.

How did you decide on FIDM? It was an easy decision. FIDM is the best school on the West Coast and it has provided me with a lot of opportunities that I wouldn’t have had otherwise.

Any favorite FIDM memories so far? Probably the photoshoots for Studio; it’s very similar to my experiences in the industry.

What is an important lesson you've learned at FIDM? To not be afraid to go after opportunities and don’t focus too much on qualifications because fear and self-doubt will talk you out of great opportunities.

What are your career goals? I’d like to eventually design for some contemporary fashion companies, hopefully in womenswear and dresses.
