Faculty Member Debra Weaver is Creative Director of Kendall & Kylie Swimwear

Apparel Technical Design and Merchandise Product Development Instructor Debra Weaver, who is also a graduate of FIDM, is the creative director and designer of Kendall & Kylie Swimwear and Badgley Mischka Lingerie. 

Since graduating from FIDM, Debra Weaver has worked as a designer and product developer for brands such as JNCO, HaleBob Girl, Lure Studio, and National Stores Inc. "Through much personal development, I came to realize my true purpose is to create beauty in the world, whether it be through fashion design or through helping another find their bliss as a creative," she said. 

"As a teacher, I see the beauty blossom in my students who go from being overwhelmed with their first tech pack to acing one at the end of the course. To see their faces turn to a knowing look of confidence when they leave is like getting to see my son ride a bike for the first time."

Debra said she feels "giddy" working as the creative director and designer for Kendall & Kylie Swimwear and Badgley Mischka Lingerie. "Kendall & Kylie has been exceptionally fun since my first job out of FIDM was swim and I've always dreamed I'd come back to doing swim," she said. "I'd say these brands are my most important work of my career. What a blessing to be so lucky to have my most exciting work of all be right now."
