VComm Students Create Installations for Macy's Flower Show
Visual Communications students in Roy Kunkle’s Design Installation class on the San Francisco campus are participating in the annual Macy’s Flower Show, an event that takes place at three marquee stores in New York, Chicago, and San Francisco, March 26 - April 9.
The twelve students working on this project have been preparing for weeks, in teams of two with the exception of two students who are working solo.
The visual team from Macy’s met with the students initially to give them an overview of the theme, which this year is a carnival. They have been back several times since, to check their progress and provide feedback.
Given a budget, the students have been encouraged to use recycled and alternative materials.
The partnership that FIDM Instructor Roy Kunkle has established with Macy’s Flower Show is in its third year.
Congratulations to the Visual Communications students on their beautiful designs and hard work: Paige Ladensack, Ke Liang, Sydney Shives, Kyle Howell, Cindy Voong, Joy Ann, Amber Talley, Katie Jystad, Taylor Michelle Cole, Janella Amonoy, Carolina Recendez De Luna, and Nicolette Fleming.
