Alyssa Leach Leverages Her IMPD Experience For Red Bull x FIDM Challenge

IMPD Alumna Alyssa Leach is one of a select few students chosen to participate in the Red Bull x FIDM Challenge this quarter to redesign the Red Bull Wings Team Los Angeles apparel collection and an undercover sampling bag. She's also working on her Bachelors of Business Management on track to graduate in December.

How is your IMPD experience helping you on the Red Bull x FIDM project? My IMPD education has helped me with every step of the Red Bull x FIDM project. The process is very similar from concept to product. Right now, we are in the design phase figuring out what fabrics accommodate the designs and for the Red Bull team's work life. Then onto the technical phase which IMPD was key in teaching me every detail of.

What are you most looking forward to accomplishing on the Red Bull challenge? I am looking forward to working for a licensed brand. It has been a challenge only using their colors and incorporating their logos but so far has been a unique experience. I hope to have at least one design chosen for their team. It's very rewarding knowing that your design is being seen somewhere.

What are your career goals and how is FIDM helping you get there? I strive to design and produce product for my own streetwear business. FIDM has not only taught me the ‘whats’ but also the ‘how-tos’ to become successful. They provide many opportunities as steps to get to my ultimate goal.
