FIDM Student Designs Customized Sneakers For Super Bowl Quarterback Cam Newton

According to ESPN, someone in Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton's camp reached out to custom sneaker designer and current FIDM San Francisco Student Devlin Braswell during the NFL playoffs. After seeing his work online, they thought Devlin could make something special for the Super Bowl, should the Panthers make it. The result is a pair of Under Armour Curry Twos with Panthers logos and a tongue that zips down to reveal a Superman logo (in honor of one of Newton's signature celebration moves). Devlin, a U.S. Coast Guard veteran, said the shoes took about eight hours to make. He began customizing sneakers in 1997, and rose to fame after creating designs for Jadakiss and Lil' Kim, among others. The Carolina Panthers official Twitter account called them "Just the coolest shoes in the history of footwear. #SB50."
