In light of what is going on the world at this moment, it is common to feel increased levels of stress and anxiety. These feelings and thoughts are absolutely normal, and you are not alone. FIDM Personal Counselor Jessica Cattani put together a few tips to practice self-care during difficult times and we wanted to share them with you.

Jessica’s Tips for Self-Care:

  • Sleep and eat well. Drink lots of water.
  • Write gratitude messages to friends and family.
  • Stay in communication with your loved ones.
  • Join a supportive social media group.
  • Practice mindfulness, meditation, and grounding techniques.
  • Be creative, sketch.
  • Enjoy the art of cooking.
  • Listen to audio books.
  • Listen to an inspirational podcast.
  • Watch a fun movie or TV show.
  • Try virtual karaoke.
  • Sing, laugh, and dance.
  • Listen to music.
  • Work out at home. Try yoga or pilates.
  • Express your feelings by journaling.
