Merchandising & Marketing, Professional Designation

FIDM is no longer accepting enrollment for this program as of Winter 2024.

The Merchandising & Marketing Associate of Arts (A.A.) Professional Designation Program is an accelerated 45-unit merchandising degree program. Open to those who already hold a college degree or who have a minimum of 45 semester units (67 quarter units) of transferable academic coursework, the curriculum offers focused, intensive study in this specialized major and allows graduates to enter the job market with highly sought-after skills.

Students choose between two options:  Merchandising & Buying and Fashion Marketing.

Merchandising & Buying

In this option, students learn what shapes and directs consumer behavior and how to plan, develop, and present apparel lines for target markets.

Fashion Marketing

In this option, students learn how to build brand equity, acquire and retain customers, and develop successful global marketing campaigns.

The entire Merchandising & Buying option is also available online via eLearning. FIDM Distance Education programs may not be available in some states. Please confirm your eligibility with an Admissions Advisor prior to application.
