Eva Gilbert, Chairperson for the Bachelor of Science in Apparel Technical Design at FIDM, discusses the role of the technical designer and how the program prepares students for a career in design engineering and product development for the global fashion industry. Students in this program create their own collections, which are displayed annually at the FIDM Museum & Galleries, and graduates work in places such as Nike, Vince, Alice + Olivia, Good American, and Adidas.
