FOX and FIDM Team Up For $5,000 Scholarship Costume Design Contest

FOX invites FIDM Students to enter a costume design sketch competition, inspired by The Masked Singer, for a chance to win a $5,000 scholarship.

FOX recently partnered with FIDM to host a live Q&A event with The Masked Singer costume designer and FIDM Alumna, Marina Toybina (pictured above with Barbara Bundy and Nick Verreos), in the FIDM Museum foyer on the Los Angeles campus. An elaborate peacock costume from the show was on display, and guests were treated to an extended promo of the upcoming reality competition series, which features celebrities singing in head-to-toe costumes and face masks to conceal their identity from other contestants, panelists, and audience.

The Q&A event also marked the announcement of an exciting contest for FIDM Students to celebrate the premiere of The Masked Singer. Students on all four FIDM campuses are invited to submit an original, fully-rendered hand illustration of their personal costume design by Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. The winning sketch will be featured on The Masked Singer's social accounts on the day of show's premiere on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 9/8c on FOX and the winning student will receive a $5,000 scholarship courtesy of FOX.

Sketches may be submitted to the Reception Desk on each campus.
