Filipina Actress Gretchen Barretto's Daughter Dominique Cojuangco Graduates From FIDM

Dominique Cojuangco, the daughter of Filipina actress and socialite Gretchen Barretto and businessman Tonyboy Cojuangco, recently graduated from FIDM with a degree in Merchandising & Marketing. Prior to studying at FIDM San Francisco, Dominique, who is also a social media superstar with 744,000 followers on Instagram, received a degree in Fashion Design from Istituto Marangoni in London in 2017.

After proud mom Gretchen Barretto shared a photo of her daughter Dominique Cojuangco's FIDM diploma, which showed she received an Associate of Arts degree and graduated magna cum laude, the media in their native Philippines picked up the story, with celebratory articles posted in Cosmopolitan, The Philippine Star, and ABS-CBN News, among other publications. She received her second degree from FIDM in the fall of 2019.

Dominique, who named her first fashion collection La Doña, which translates to "lady" or "primadonna," a childhood nickname of the FIDM Grad, said in a past interview that her creations pulled inspiration from the Philippines. "I wanted my clothing to exude the elegance of a Filipina woman without blatantly screaming where I took my inspiration from," she said. "I looked at photographs of ‘old’ and ‘new’ Manila for color, using a vivid palette because Filipinos are known for their bright and sunny dispositions."

From 2015 to 2017, Dominique was an active vlogger with a YouTube channel that has 111,000 subscribers. There, she shared her travel adventures, culinary cook-offs, and dance workouts. She is currently a Global E-Commerce Intern at Benefit Cosmetics in San Francisco.
