IMPD Grad Jessa Braunreiter Designs for Palladium in Industry Partnership

Each year, FIDM partners with a top brand in our International Manufacturing & Product Development (IMPD) program where students master all facets of the product development cycle. This year, a select group of students were accepted into the exclusive program and partnered with French footwear brand Palladium. In addition to footwear, the students created Palladium's first apparel collection. We caught up with 2022 IMPD Grad Jessa Braunreiter, who designed streetwear focused menswear for Palladium FW2022, to learn about her experience in the 9-month program and her career goals.

Born in San Francisco, California, and raised in Denver, Colorado, Jessa attended Arapahoe High School and Colorado State University for Apparel and Merchandising and Business Administration before moving to Los Angeles for FIDM's IMPD Program.

Tell us about the designs you created for Palladium in FIDM's IMPD Program: The designs I created for Palladium were inspired by their intricate consumer. I had menswear, and created a look for men aged 17–27. My looks were streetwear focused for the season F/W 2022, and allowed me to grow incredibly as a designer through constructive feedback.

What did you like best about the IMPD program? My favorite part of the program was the hands-on intensity. The days spent in the classroom with the teachers are exciting, helpful, and fun. The teachers have so much knowledge to share, and are so supportive of your creativity. My room for growth was unlimited, and I felt the encouragement to excel in every session.

What are your careers goals and how is FIDM helping you prepare? I would like to one day be a creative artistic director of a streetwear brand, or work in management for a luxury company. FIDM has given me the tools to succeed in the fact that I’m ready for the intensity of the industry. I feel well rounded and knowledgeable in every aspect of content to creation in a line, and prepared for whatever opportunities may arise.

Anything else you’d like to share? I am so thankful for the opportunity to study at FIDM and to have the teachers through this program. It allowed me to grow creatively and work with the industry in real time. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience before working in the industry now.
