Lauren Mullally

Digital Media student, Lauren Mullaly, makes beauty, fashion, and lifestyle videos on her popular YouTube channel. Her DIYs, morning routines, back to school videos, and lookbooks have been viewed more than four million times.

Tell us a bit about yourself. Up until a few years ago, my only true passion was cheerleading. When I started college I decided that I would leave cheerleading behind and search for new interests and passions. It was at this time that I found my passion for video editing and everything beauty and fashion related through creating my YouTube channel, laurensvanityy.

Since creating my YouTube channel, it has become a passion that takes over a good portion of my life. If I am not filming, I am either editing future videos, thinking of new video ideas, or answering comments on my videos or other social networks.

What are your proudest accomplishments so far? My proudest accomplishment so far would have to be starting my YouTube channel and becoming a StyleHaul partner. My channel has been able to give me so many opportunities to travel to new places, meet new people, experiment with new products, and many other opportunities that I wouldn't have had otherwise.

What made FIDM right for you? I knew FIDM was the right school for me the second I stepped onto the campus. The atmosphere and the class sizes made FIDM really stand out to me. Also, the program that FIDM offers for Digital Media has the best curriculum I found, which made the decision to become a student at FIDM very easy!

Describe your entrance project. I created a video that ultimately just described who I was as a person, how I got to the place I am today, and why FIDM was the school I wanted to transfer to. I put a lot of myself into the video and by doing so actually learned more about myself and who I really was.

What are your future goals? To graduate FIDM with my Digital Media degree as well as my Bachelor of Science degree.

What do you expect to learn at FIDM? I expect to gain more knowledge and experience within the Digital Media field. I hope to be able to explore programs and editing software that I have never used before. Most of all, I expect to learn more about myself and how I fit into FIDM and my major.
