Business of Denim Program Featured on CBS LA

FIDM’s Business of Denim Program was recently featured in an "Inside SoCal" segment on CBS LA. Reporter Erica Olsen chatted with Chairperson Amanda Starling about slow fashion, sustainability, and waste in the denim industry. The news program also highlighted students Ally Dechant and Pablo Alvarez and graduate Riley Fawcett.

“They’re looking at a way to use trims that were traditionally not recycled and they’re being very creative when they design,” Starling said of FIDM Business of Denim students. “They’re putting seams in differently, they're putting fits in differently. They’re recycling, they’re upcycling, so it’s really exciting to see them spearheading the future of the industry.”
