NEWH Scholarships

About NEWH Scholarships – An objective of the NEWH By-laws is to promote scholarship, education and interest within the Hospitality Industry. NEWH, Inc. and its chapters fundraise to provide scholarships to students pursuing a career within Hospitality related fields (Interior Design, Hospitality Management, Culinary, Architecture, Senior Living, etc.).

Annual Amount

NEWH BrandED $7,500 scholarship: Opening time varies each year. Open to hospitality management students. Scholarships are awarded at the following events: NEWH Leadership Conference held in January/February (even years-location changes) and The Lodging Conference held annually in September in Phoenix, Arizona. Scholarship recipient must be able to attend the awards event with paid airfare/lodging provided.

NEWH ICON of Industry $7,500 scholarship: Opens in spring, applications due late summer and awarded in November. Open to students pursuing a career in a similar field as the selected NEWH ICON (changes annually). Awarded at Boutique Design Gold Key Awards Gala in New York City in November (during BDNY). Scholarship recipient must be able to attend the awards event with paid airfare/lodging provided.

NEWH Fabric Innovations Legacy $10,000 scholarship, sponsored by Fabric Innovations: Opens in spring, applications due late summer and awarded in November. Open to hospitality management or interior design students in New York and Florida. Awarded at the Hospitality Design Platinum Circle Gala in New York City in November. Scholarship recipient must be able to attend the awards event with paid airfare/lodging provided.

NEWH Clifford R. Tuttle scholarship: Opens in spring, applications due in summer and awarded in November. Open to interior design students. Awarded at the Hospitality Design Platinum Circle Gala in New York City in November. Scholarship recipient must be able to attend the awards event with paid airfare/lodging provided. NEWH Women Leaders $5,000 scholarship, sponsored by Boutique Design Group: Opens in spring, applications due late summer and awarded in November. Open to female hospitality management students. Awarded at Boutique Design Power Players: Women Leaders in Hospitality Breakfast and Panel session in New York City in November (during BDNY). Scholarship recipient must be able to attend the awards event with paid airfare/lodging provided.

NEWH Interior Design $10,000 scholarship sponsored by P Kaufmann/Contract: Opens in spring, applications due late summer and awarded in November. Open to interior design students (with a career focus in hospitality) at Pratt Institute, Parsons, Pace University or Fashion Institute of New York. Awarded at the Boutique Design Gold Key Awards Gala in New York City in November (during BDNY). Scholarship recipient must be able to attend the awards event with paid airfare/lodging provided.

NEWH Leadership $7,500 scholarships: Opens in spring (even years), applications due late summer.  Winner awarded at the NEWH Leadership Conference in January/February the following year (location changes).  Open to hospitality management students. Scholarship recipient must be able to attend the awards event with paid airfare/lodging/conference pass provided.

NEWH Green Voice Design Competition, sponsored by Florida Seating, Tarkett, and Valley Forge Fabrics
Undergraduate $7,500 scholarship
Graduate $7,500 scholarship
Opens in summer, projects due in January the following year, with awards in spring. Open to undergraduate and graduate interior design or architecture students junior level and above (pursuing a career in hospitality). Winning students’ receive paid airfare/lodging to attend the awards event at HD EXPO in Las Vegas, Nevada.


NEWH Harvey Nudelman $5,000 scholarship, sponsored by Fabricut Contract, FR One: Opens in fall, applications due in December and awarded in May of the following year. Open to interior design students pursuing a career in hospitality. Awarded during The Young Entrepreneurs breakfast and panel discussion at HD EXPO in Las Vegas, Nevada. Scholarship recipient must be able to attend the awards event with paid airfare/lodging provided.

NEWH Yello Goat Design Scholarship, sponsored by Yellow Goat Desing:: Opens in spring, applications due in summer and awarded in November.  Open to all hospitality focused students attending school in Washington DC.

NEWH Cruise Ship Interiors $5,000 Scholarship, sponsored by Cruise Ship Interiors:  Opens in spring, applications due in summer and awarded in the Fall 2022.  Open to interior design students with a hospitality career focus.  Special consideration will be given to students with Cruise Ship Design Certifications.  Scholarship recipient must be able to attend the awards event with paid airfare/lodging provided.


Chapter Scholarships – NEWH Chapter scholarships are awarded annually and open to students within the chapter territory. To apply, go to NEWH Chapter Scholarships page (if there is no hyperlink, check back it simply means the scholarship has not opened yet).
