Student Spotlight: Merchandising & Marketing Student Tyson Wilson Builds Connections At FIDM

Tyson Wilson grew up just outside of Nashville, Tennessee and attended White House High School before beginning his education at FIDM. He’s pursuing an A.A. in Merchandising & Marketing, with a planned graduation of Summer 2023. We caught up with him to learn more. 

What is your background in Merchandising & Marketing? Besides taking marketing classes in high school, I was also involved with our DECA marketing team and competed. Outside of school I would constantly try to take in new information especially about big marketing campaigns and how they target their customers.
 
Why Merchandising & Marketing? And how is FIDM helping you toward your career goals? I chose the Merchandising & Marketing program because I believe it could help further my knowledge of marketing while showing me the development side of things with merchandising. FIDM has taught me hands-on industry knowledge that I otherwise couldn't find anywhere else. I've also been connected with professors and professionals that have been extremely helpful.

Anything else you’d like to share? I'm excited for my future at FIDM and where it takes me.
