What does your job entail on a daily basis?
“We drive store sales by creating exciting and well-formatted visual directives that clearly communicate merchandising strategies.”
What are some of the most important lessons you’ve learned since graduating?
“I’ve learned that you should always be kind. I’ve also learned that it’s okay to be yourself and have confidence. If you act knowledgeable and confident, you will eventually become what you’re pretending to be.”
Is there anything that surprised you about working in the industry?
“My team and I at Forever 21 are very tight knit. Everyone’s energy is so upbeat. We know when to have fun and when to get serious.”
How did FIDM’s Graphic Design program prepare you for the environment that you are working in?
“I learned so much about Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, which enhanced my skills. I’m constantly working on directives and other projects, so the Graphic Design program taught me how to deal with deadlines. One of my instructors, Kevin Reagan, inspired me to always work hard and to never give up. He always motivated me to do well.”
What is the best part about your job?
“It's being surrounded by talented people. I love interacting with my colleagues because they’re so helpful and encouraging.”
