From haute couture for the elite to the fast-fashions of today, this presentation explores how events such as World Wars, economic and environmental disasters, artistic movements, and technology influenced what Americans wore.

The Fashion industry is a trillion dollar global industry that ebbs and flows with changes in society. The period studied (1900–present day) shows the most rapid transformation in apparel in the United States.
