Small batch textile designers are enjoying a moment as the quest for authenticity meets interior design. Firms like Eskayel, Rebecca Atwood, and Rule of Three are melding handmade design with digital printing and selling throw pillows, table linens, draperies, and tote bags that appeal to decorators looking for an alternative to the same old solid color silk and linen products. Described as sharing "a kind of refined hippie vibe" these one-of-a-kind textiles "are the artisanal product of the moment, made in small batches by upstart textile boutiques," and often sold online, reports the New York Times.
