Name: Ryan Okko

FIDM Major + Grad YearGraphic Design, 2017

Job Title: Content Creator for Pink Dolphin / Haus of JR / Special Delivery / Detache

City of Residence: Los Angeles

How did you first hear about FIDM? A good friend of mine attended FIDM and recommended I take a tour. After meeting the instructors and talking with them, I felt like it was meant to be.

What were some valuable lessons/skills you learned at FIDM? Software, problem-solving, marketing, print knowledge, design knowledge, HTML, time management, and typography.

Tell us about your current position and responsibilities. How does it feel to work with brands such as Kylie Jenner and ASAP MOB? As a content creator, my role varies from product shots for e-commerce down to organizing and finessing photoshoots, social media, etc. I work with a handful of successful entrepreneurs and celebrities, which gives me a sense of pride. It gets me more motivated and more pumped to get the job done because I get to see my work posted on many of their social media accounts. It pushes me to produce more creative and unique concepts.

What do you like best about this job? What I like best about my job is that every day I go into the office I am challenged and I always learn something new. I am fortunate enough to work with such a talented group of individuals. This job has pushed me to accomplish tasks that I never thought I would be tackling at age 24. My work gets critiqued by world renowned artists and celebrities on a daily basis. That kind of pressure really motivates and pushes you to think outside of the box and make sure that you are as detailed and professional as possible.
