GUESS Recruits Summer Interns on LA Campus

Recruiters visited FIDM today to interview students for their prestigious summer internship program. "The Institute prepares students for the workplace, and FIDM students know the industry," explains recruiters Kylie Baker and Sergio Vejar, on why they prize their relationship with FIDM. Last year, about 30% of their interns came from FIDM and spent the summer at the company's downtown headquarters.  

GUESS's internship program is a structured, 10-week paid summer program designed to mentor new talent in all areas: design, buying, digital advertising, web design, e-commerce, production, visual display, even HR. Last year, three FIDM interns were offered full time positions when the program ended.

What were they looking for in the short interviews: 

  1. Excitement about the fashion industry.
  2. Knowledge and passion about the brand.
  3. Independent research on Instagram and other social platforms about current GUESS campaigns, products.
