Design BA Grad Creates to Inspire

San Francisco native Caroline Estrada, who was also raised in Sacramento, California, first learned about FIDM from a high school friend. "After we graduated, I wanted to check it out for myself," she says. "Seeing all the different majors and the campus being in the heart of San Francisco made me want to attend. Everyone was so nice who helped me get into FIDM SF."

While finishing up her degree in Visual Communications, Caroline began thinking about pursuing a bachelor's degree. "Thankfully, I saw that FIDM created a Bachelor of Arts in Design for Fall 2015, which was perfect--I ended up packing up my bags and moving to LA for the Winter 2016 quarter to start the Design Program," she explains.

Caroline says that each class she took at FIDM "had a lesson for us to be successful in the real world and those lessons stayed with me. FIDM gave me the courage to pursue exactly what I wanted." Since graduating in June of this year, Caroline has been designing freelance and fallen in love with photography.

In addition to her passion for the beauty industry (she hopes to one day have a cosmetics line), Caroline offers typography, logo design, brand strategy, illustration, product packing, and web design services. "I take my camera wherever I go and my portfolio keeps getting bigger," she says. "I currently am looking to see where my design journey takes me and what clients I hope to meet in the future."
