How did your advisor help with the process? Susan was fabulous and so personable. She made the application process very easy and fluid. She laid everything out in the very beginning and made it very clear what was expected throughout the process.
Tell us a bit about yourself. I am a lover of skincare and cosmetics. My career goal in life is to develop my own cosmetic line. I've been an athlete all my life, playing softball since I was 5 years old. I went to undergrad across the country in Rhode Island and was a Division 1 athlete at Providence College. Since I've graduated, I took up boxing to stay active and in my free time I like to hangout with family, friends, and explore new things.
What are your proudest accomplishments so far? Achieving my goal from a young girl to play Division 1 softball in college and excel. Moving across the country and graduating with my bachelor degree in science is also a huge accomplishment that I am proud of.
What made FIDM right for you? After moving out of California for four years, I knew I wanted to continue my education in California and being able to continue in an environment that is full of students with the similar passions as me. What also drew my to FIDM is that the instructors previously were or are still in the beauty industry.
Describe your entrance project. For my entrance project I created a highlighter and eye shadow palette. I drew inspiration for my interest in birthstones.
What are your career goals? I would like to learn and work with top brand cosmetic companies and my end goal is to have my own cosmetic line.
What do you expect to learn at FIDM? I expect to learn more about the beauty industry and gain experience from current beauty professionals.
