Visual Communications Grad Named Director of Events at California Market Center

Brookfield Properties has appointed Visual Communications Graduate Moriah Robinson as Director of Events at California Market Center, the West Coast's premier fashion wholesale building that's home to event venues, showrooms, and creative offices. In her new role, the 2011 alumna will blend her passion for events and public relations.

According to California Apparel News, Moriah is an events pro with plenty of experience. Her career includes three years as the special events manager at Madame Tussauds Hollywood and five years working in PR and events at Saks Fifth Avenue. Previously the senior events manager at California Market Center, Moriah was promoted to her new position during the recent LA Textile show and Sustainable Fashion Forum.

California Market Center is in the midst of a renovation that includes extensive upgrades and a desire to highlight the culture of the Fashion District. “For us it’s less about the building, it’s about our corner. We want our objectives to positively affect everybody in our neighborhood,” she said. “The California Market Center has such a rich history. I am thrilled to be a part of the renovation project.”

She hopes to enrich the experiences of visitors to the area and showcase the "lively, safe, historic, and groundbreaking," Fashion District. “We’re on the cutting edge of a lot of great art and creativity,” she told California Apparel News. “I want to communicate to all of our buyers for trade shows and showrooms that they should be shopping in L.A.”
