FIDM is one of the few colleges in the country to offer a Social Media degree. As online marketing and advertising budgets grow, professionals are needed to create, direct, and analyze engagement, as well as to provide customer service and relationship management. Students participate in the full range of social media courses while doing three internships in industries like Fashion, Entertainment, and Beauty. Industry Partnerships with top brands and companies give students the opportunity to collaborate on real world projects for resume-building experience and networking. Guest speakers for the program have included Boardwalk President Kevin Walker, who has advised NBC Universal Consumer Products, Walt Disney Consumer Products, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and pro skateboarder Tony Hawk; Lucy Redoglia, Director, Social Media at LACMA; and Maycie Thornton, Social Media Director for BuzzFeed Motion Pictures.
