The Masked Singer Costume Designer Marina Toybina Reviews Student Designs on LA Campus

The Masked Singer costume designer and FIDM Graduate Marina Toybina, who is a four-time Emmy Award winner for her work on So You Think You Can Dance and X-Factor and with Katy Perry and Taylor Swift, was recently back on campus as a guest speaker for Film & TV Costume Design Students.

Marina met with students from Traci LaDue's class on the Los Angeles campus to review a design project based on her work on The Masked Singer for the last two seasons. The top-secret singing competition features celebrities who appear in elaborate costumes and full face masks to conceal their identities.

Students enjoyed the opportunity to share their designs with the famed costume designer, who has worked with everyone from Shania Twain, Justin Bieber, and Dita Von Teese to Eminem, Nicki Minaj, and Carrie Underwood since graduating from FIDM.

The student's creations based on Marina's work on The Masked Singer included a variety of costume ideas, including a dragon, raccoon, jellyfish, and Medusa, among others.
