Fashion Design Grad Gina Marie Davis Appears on Shark Tank

Fashion Design Graduate Gina Marie Davis recently appeared on an episode of ABC's Shark Tank with her husband Scott Davis. Their family-owned business, Dog Threads, features ethically made goods and matching outfits for pets and their humans, with a portion of all sales going to help less fortunate animals find their forever homes.

Based in a small town outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Dog Threads was born in 2014 when Gina and Scott went looking for a festive party shirt for their dog, Thomas, to wear to a 4th of July barbecue. "We looked everywhere but could not find an outfit that matched his human-like personality or that was made with the quality he deserved," said co-founder and designer Gina.

With Gina's design training, the couple bought some fabric, created a pattern, and made a one-of-a-kind button-down shirt for their beloved pup. When they realized Thomas loved getting dressed up, they began making dog shirts for all occasions. After getting stopped for photos wherever they went, the entrepreneurial duo decided to launch an online store.

Dog Threads donates a portion of every sale to non-profit animal rescues and is dedicated to transparency in their manufacturing process. Most of their products are made in the U.S. and scrap fabric from the production process is used to stuff disposable animal beds which are donated to animal shelters.
