Chula Vista HS FC Pres Kenyana Palomera Starts at FIDM in July

Keyana Palomera, Chula Vista High School FIDM Fashion Club President, just got accepted to study Fashion Design starting this July. She tells us her story...

FIDM has been my dream school since third grade. Through extensive research, I found that FIDM offers the education and teaches the skills necessary for someone to achieve success and prosper in the industry. I hope to create my own atelier that makes excellent quality, high end clothing out of recycled fabrics.

Being a FIDM Fashion Club president for two years at Chula Vista High School has taught me how to be a dependable leader. This position has provided a foundation on which I can build in order to achieve my goals as a future #girlboss.

I’m getting a jumpstart on my career now. I started a clothing brand called Double Existence. I also have been networking and creating relationships in the industry. One example of this is working at Fashion Week San Diego and talking and working with the designers.

To all the Fashion Club Presidents out there: take advantage of the time you have in order to do whatever you want to do. Any step big or small, that you take towards your career is an important step.

I cannot wait to attend FIDM!
