Brigitte Streeter Meets Execs at Dior Beauty and Intercos on NY Beauty Study Tour
Currently interning at GLAMGLOW, student Brigitte Streeter recently participated in the NY Beauty Study Tour, meeting with executives at companies including Fresh, Philosophy, Intercos, Dior Beauty, and Givaudan. We caught up with her to find out more.
Tell us a little about yourself: I am originally from Atlanta, Georgia, and moved to Southern California to attend FIDM. I have always been a product junkie and am incredibly passionate about color cosmetics and skincare. I love hiking, shopping, attending concerts and festivals, and spending time with friends and family.
Tell us about the NY Beauty Study Tour: I found there to be an incredible amount of value in attending the NY Beauty Study Tour. Even before arriving in NY, the amount of hard work and problem solving that went into executing the projects was wonderful real world experience. The NY Study Tour was incredibly immersive in that we met with brands that specialize in a wide variety of beauty categories, like Fresh, Victoria’s Secret, Philosophy, Intercos, Dior Beauty, and Givaudan. We networked and shared our millennial perspective with each brand, giving tips and suggestions as to what they do very well and what they can improve upon.
What was the best part of the trip? Being able to meet with brand executives to participate in a collaborative conversation about their brands. It was refreshing to feel like our opinions were valued by such high level professionals.
How did you hear about FIDM? From my favorite TV show, The Hills! I knew I didn’t want to go to a traditional university, as my passion was deeply rooted in beauty. I enjoy that our instructors are industry professionals themselves with firsthand knowledge of the field and what it takes to be a competitive brand or entrepreneur.
Tell us about your internship: I am currently an Education Coordinator for GLAMGLOW located in Hollywood, CA. I was recommended for the position by a GLAMGLOW employee. I interviewed shortly after and was offered the job.
What are your career goals? My career goal is to work for Intercos, a cosmetic manufacturer and leader in innovation. I would love to be responsible for forecasting the cosmetic and skincare trends that influence the industry for years to come.
