The GUESS Scholars Program
Apply for a full one-year scholarship to attend FIDM
The 2018 application period for the GUESS Scholars Program is now closed. Recipients will be announced in September 2018.
Applicants must be majoring in Fashion Design, Fashion Knitwear Design, The Business of Denim, Design (from Fashion Design), or Professional Studies (from an Advanced Fashion Design program) to apply.
Applicants will be judged and evaluated based upon the caliber of their portfolio, essay, and letters of recommendation. After each applicant is assessed, five candidates will be selected by the FIDM Admissions Board and passed on to the GUESS Foundation Selection Committee who will select the final winning scholars.
About the GUESS Scholars Program
Each year, the GUESS Scholars Program grants an outstanding FIDM Student a scholarship that will cover a full academic year. The program supports not only the fashion industry’s burgeoning young talent and the future of the industry in its hometown of Los Angeles, but also provides local talent with a brighter, more promising future.
How to Apply
Applicants are asked to submit The GUESS Scholars Program Application Packet. You must meet the application requirements in order to apply. Applicants must be:
- a High School Graduate, including the class of 2018, interested in attending the FIDM Los Angeles campus OR a continuing FIDM Student or Graduate returning for an additional degree at the Los Angeles campus in Fall 2018.
- a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
GUESS Scholar Duston Jasso has seen his career take off as a result of winning the prestigious scholarship. “GUESS has given me a platform and has helped me launch my career,” says Duston. Since winning, he has designed collections for the DEBUT Runway Show and GUESS, and he was a finalist in the Supima National Design Competition.
