Each year, the GUESS Scholars Program grants two outstanding FIDM Students a scholarship that will cover a full academic year. For the 2015-2016 school year, GUESS is granting one scholarship to last year's winner Duston Jasso and one additional scholarship to an eligible 2015 High School Graduate. Three runners-up will be considered for $3000-$5000 FIDM Merit Scholarships.
Students majoring in Merchandise Marketing, Merchandise Product Development, International Manufacturing & Product Development, Fashion Design, Fashion Knitwear Design, and Business Management are eligible to apply. Applicants will be judged and evaluated based upon the caliber of their portfolios, submitted essays, and letters of recommendation. After each applicant is assessed, up to twenty candidates will be selected by the FIDM Admissions Board and passed on to the FIDM Scholarship Foundation Selection Committee who will select the final winning scholar.
The GUESS Scholars Program will not only support the fashion industry’s burgeoning young talent and the future of the industry in its hometown of Los Angeles, but also provide local talent with a brighter, more promising future. “I believe there is nothing more valuable than a fresh and creative mind flourishing in education,” said Paul Marciano, President and Director of the GUESS Foundation. “The GUESS Scholars Program is just another way we can stand behind and support the next generation of fashion.”
